Norton: http://anti-virus-software-review.toptenreviews.com/norton-review.html
Norton Antivirus 2009 is a good product for keeping your computer safe from viruses, but is not as effective as it should be against spyware. While it has a good track record of keeping viruses off of computers using it, it also has significant issues with slowing down computers that it is protecting. Symantec has done a lot to fix the slow down issues by reducing the amount of system resources used, but they still need to do more work to make the product a contender in the modern antivirus market.

AVG: http://anti-virus-software-review.toptenreviews.com/avg-review.html
AVG Technologies, formerly Grisoft, has gone above and beyond with the new release of AVG Antivirus. Included with the virus scanner, are a rootkit scanner, spyware scanner, an on-access scanner called Resident Shield, email scanner and a link scanning browser plug-in. There is also a portion of AVG Antivirus called Web Shield. Web Shield is a chopped down firewall application that scans standard web ports for any threats encountered while browsing the web. It also includes protection for MSN Messenger and ICQ.

McAfee: http://anti-virus-software-review.toptenreviews.com/mcafee-review.html
McAfee VirusScan offers a rich list of features. You can set VirusScan to scan your computer at a preprogrammed scheduled time. The program also scans for spyware and adware. You can't add several tasks to the Scheduled Scan. It would be great to be able to scan all files once a month and only program files weekly or any other tasks you would like to set up. McAfee has an Antivirus Emergency Response Team that continually monitors the worldwide virus activities to provide you with the utmost safety. The always-on protection guards against viruses, spyware and other Internet threats that may enter your PC via e-mail, instant message attachments, Internet downloads, and web browsing.

Kaspersky: http://reviews.cnet.com/antivirus-and-filtering/kaspersky-anti-virus-6/4505-3681_7-32004282.html
Kaspersky offers a number of specific antivirus protections for your PC. Like most antivirus products today, Kaspersky also protects your computer against spyware--scanning for both viruses and spyware, which is much more efficient than scanning for each separately. Kaspersky scans not only e-mail, but also Web-based port 80 traffic, routing out online viruses, Trojans, and other malware before any of these infect your hard drive. To reduce scan time, you can even ask Kaspersky to scan only the files that have changed or been modified recently. Standing behind the Kaspersky Anti-Virus application is Kaspersky Labs, one of the best antivirus research labs in the world; often Kaspersky is the first to report new malware. We like that Kaspersky features hourly signature file and program updates; other vendors update your system only when necessary. And with Kaspersky, you can roll back any update (in the case of a software conflict), which is not the case with other antivirus vendors.

Ad-Aware: http://www.antivirusnews.net/antivirus-reviews/detail.html
We keep you safe from password stealers, keyloggers, spyware, trojans, and other potential identity thieves. Ad-Aware keeps your passwords and personal information safe to make sure you can socialize freely. Ad-Watch Real Time Monitor detects deceptive malware applications before they integrate into your PC and attack your private information. We also erase tracks left behind while surfing the Web, on browsers such as Internet Explorer, Opera, and Firefox, in one easy click. Ad-Aware actively shields you and your business from deceptive applications and cyber attacks. We even conserve resources and reduce downtime by using automated scans to identify and remove malicious applications that eat up memory. Know that your confidential information is kept safe from dangerous intrusions and prying eyes.

Zonealarm: http://antivirus.about.com/od/antivirussoftwarereviews/fr/zonealarm.htm
ZoneAlarm monitors both inbound and outbound connection attempts and prompts the user for a decision. While a product like ZoneAlarm will stop a Remote Access Trojan (RAT) cold, it only works if the user is experienced enough to make the right decision. For this reason, ZoneAlarm and other permission-based firewalls are better suited to more advanced users who understand the ramifications of their decisions.

In my opinion I think Kaspersky is the best Anti-Virus Software because like all other antivirus it too protects you computer against spyware, viruses, and adware. But it not only scans your e-mail but also the Web-based port 80 traffic, routing out online viruses, Trojans, and other malware before any of them infect your hard drive. I especially like Kaspersky because it has its own Kaspersky Labs, which is one of the best antivirus research labs in the world and Kaspersky is often the first to report new malware. Other antivirus software such as Norton and McAfee do not have efficient scans and ad-aware is not even anti-virus software.

I agree that Kaspersky is the best at protecting against all those major threats. Also it scans all places that could bring in those harmful problems to your computer and stops them. Overall it gives you the most options at protecting your computer.
