Norton - http://www.geek.com/articles/chips/review-norton-internet-security-2009-not-ready-2008101/
So what does NIS 2009 do? The short answer is, a lot. A look at the application reveals that it completely replaces your standard Windows security package. There is an antivirus, anti-spyware, firewall, intrusion protection, email/messaging scanning, identity safe, and anti-phishing… and that’s just on the surface. An example of a tool under the top level is Norton Insight, which is designed to increase performance by identifying files that don’t have to be scanned and then leaving them out of subsequent scans. There is also an extensive CPU usage tool that isolates and display Norton’s CPU usage so you can get an idea of its impact on your system.

AVG - http://review.zdnet.com/product/internet-security-and-firewall/avg-antivirus-8/32887573
AVG Anti-Virus 8 includes anti-drive-by download protection along with antirootkit, antivirus, and anstipyware protection.
AVG Anti-Virus 8 tested in the middle or even to the slow end for scanning and boot time performance.
AVG Anti-Virus 8 is solid at finding and removing viruses and spyware as well as blocking Web threats, but could be lighter on system resources and provide more technical support options.

McAfee - http://anti-virus-software-review.toptenreviews.com/mcafee-review.html
McAfee is an industry leader in computer protection and VirusScan is their #1 defense against viruses. This software comes with a ScriptStopper to prevent viruses from propagating from one computer to another via email, and WormStopper.
Some downsides to the program are that it doesn't provide instant message protection, P2P/file sharing protection or registry startup protection.

Kaspersky - http://anti-virus-software-review.toptenreviews.com/kaspersky-review.html
Kaspersky Labs has been one of the best antivirus software developers in the world for over a decade and now Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009 only strengthens that reputation. Founded by Natalia and Eugene Kaspersky in 1997, this Russian company is often the first to find and identify new viruses. Long used in Russia and Europe, Kaspersky is now making inroads in the North American market. Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009 is one of the most effective antivirus packages in the world today and boasts a great interface with easy to use and intuitive controls.

Ad-Aware - http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-Anniversary-Edition/3000-8022_4-10045910.html
Without a doubt, though, this version of Ad-Aware improves greatly on what has come before. It loads faster during your boot cycle. Scans take less time than before, too--the Quick Scan completed in less than 10 minutes. Although we did notice a major false positive crop up for another program's uninstaller, there were no other flaws in the scan. New users should notice that the app performs faster than integrated antivirus and antimalware programs, because only the paid version of Ad-Aware comes with an antivirus engine.

Zonealarm - http://reviews.cnet.com/internet-security-and-firewall/zonealarm-internet-security-suite/4505-3667_7-32309439.html
ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 7 includes award-winning Kaspersky antivirus and MailFrontier antispam; plays well with other security applications; uninstalls cleanly. ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 7 could provide an antiphishing toolbar; has no backup or file recovery feature; lacks a data shredder. ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 7 provides the perfect balance between best-of-breed security protection and ease of use, providing the home user with superior protection that's light on system resources.

I was reading more about the Zonealarm and that sounds like the best one to me. It said it works well with other securtiy applications which is good. It said it comes with Kaspersky anti-virus which is good. I was reading about the Kaspersky antivirus software and it said its come of the best software, its just quite expensive for a one year license. I thought Zonealarm was good because you can use other applications for more protection, which is always good.
