The article shows when the USB was introduced and what stages of development it went through. The USB port is faster than other ports because most of them support plug and play. Plug and play means that you can plug it in and play it without restarting the computer unlike the ps/2 port. The USB port allows a lot of devices being connected by it instead of only having one port for one peripheral. USB 1.1 was released in November 1995 then USB 1.1 came out in September 1998 and the USB ports that most computers use now is called the USB 2.0 which was released in April 2000. USB 2.0 is the fastest. USB 3.0 in still experimental but was released to major companies on August 2008.
