With carrying a flash drive with linux on it your able to boot from just the cd or a usb flashdrive allowing you to still acess in with no log in. it also limits the potential of recieveing virusses and hacks from others. Another good reason is beacause you can use it on any empy spaced hard drive or computer to use its capabilities. In all its a very good idea to carry around a boot.
