Norton Anti-Virus 2009 is a good virus software program but it is missing some key things making it successful. It is a good program to keep your computer clean but it is bad against spy-ware and it uses a lot of memory to keep it running so you need to leave it run for a period of time.

AVG Antivirus 8-http://reviews.cnet.com/internet-security-and-firewall/avg-antivirus-8/4505-3667_7-32887573.html
The scanning features are fater and the interface looks very nice Including a link scanner and integrating AVG Anti-spyware and AVG Anti-Rootkit provides an even more effective product. A problem that has been with most anti-virus software is that it slows down computers to a point where you cant use them. This isn't a constant factor and has been improved significantly, but you will notice it when it happens. but besides the slowdown issue AVG Anti-virus 8 is a good product that will help keep your computer clean and safe.

McAfee VirusScan 2009-http://anti-virus-software-review.toptenreviews.com/mcafee-review.html
McAfee is a name brand product that does an excellent job at detecting and removing viruses. They have a lost of features that will keep your compter clean from virus. The new feater called quickscan will scan the areas where it is most vulnerable and frequently attacked to keep your compter safe in minuets. The bad part is the tech support they took a while to resound to emails.

Over alll I have read i would say that the best is McAfee VirusScan 2009
